Client context
Cuts by Evm is a one-barber operation with an evening schedule: Monday through Friday, after five. Demand came almost entirely from word of mouth — someone gets a clean fade, their friends ask who did it, and the messages start. Good problem, bad system.
The challenge
Every booking required a conversation: an Instagram DM, a text, a phone call — with a barber who spends his days unavailable and his evenings holding clippers. The back-and-forth of scheduling ate the very time it was supposed to fill, and nothing protected that time once it was booked. A no-show cost the whole slot.
What we delivered
- A booking flow, not a contact form. Pick a service, pick a date, pick an evening slot, enter your details — done in under a minute, with no conversation required.
- Stripe deposits built in. A $10 deposit secures every appointment, paid online, non-refundable on cancellation, with the remainder paid in person. That's a business policy enforced by software: it filters for serious bookings and puts a real cost on flaking.
- Confirmations for both sides. Every booking triggers confirmation emails to the client and to Elvis, so nobody's guessing who's booked and when.
- Built like an app. Mobile-first, fast, and simple — designed for how his clients actually book: on a phone, from an Instagram bio link.
- The storefront around it. Services, upfront pricing, his story, hours, and contact — the landing page does the convincing so the booking page only has to do the booking.
Current status
Launched in July 2026 and now his primary booking channel. Word of mouth still does the marketing — the app just catches what it sends. This page stays qualitative until there are real numbers worth reporting; when there are, they'll be real ones.
